Education
Valda Haywood graduated from the University of Illinois with a BS in Psychology. She received her Master’s Degree in Social Work, MSW from the George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University St. Louis, Mo. Certified as a Licensed Social Worker and Trainer of Trainer by IL DCFS and Certified by Family Forward as a Nurturing Parenting Facilitator.
Experience
Valda L. Haywood worked for Illinois Department of Children & Family Services for 32 years in multiple capacities including, Child Protection Investigator, Child Welfare Specialist, APT Monitor, Court Liaison, Supervisor, Manage, Assistant Regional Administrator, and Regional Administrator. Post Retirement in 2015, VHL Consulting was created to continue working in the social service field using my skills and knowledge to support and help others.
Valda Haywood contracted with Hoyleton Youth and Family Services to train new supervisors and workers, IL Department of Children & Family Services as a Clinical and C 21 Facilitator, Community Life Line Family Advocacy Center as Program Director and Council on Accreditation as a US and Canadian Site Reviewer. Valda L. Haywood teaches parenting classes that are accepted by the juvenile court and has authored two books.
